Nageswara Rao - Reflets De L'Inde (Barclay, 1972)

I'm starting this blog off with Nageswara Rao's Reflets De L'Inde, a personal favorite of mine (and of one of my cat's who falls asleep almost instantly whenever I put this on.) The album is a beautiful showcase of the Saraswati veena, heard solo here. Rao's playing style is slow and thoughtful, though at times played with such intensity that the sound becomes slightly distorted.
